Washington Needs A New Direction

Henderson, NV – On “tax-day,” Dr. Joe Heck candidate for Congress issued the following statement:

“Today, thousands of Nevadans will make their way to the post office to submit their taxes.  Hard working Nevada families will do their part as citizens even though Dina Titus and Nancy Pelosi have already spent these hard-earned tax dollars months ago on wasteful spending and bailouts under the guise of a stimulus.  Today, Washington politicians are already spending next year’s tax payments on a failed healthcare reform package and growing debt payments.”

“Residents of Southern Nevada are left wondering, ‘When will help arrive for me?  When will the economy pick back up and when will I be able to find work?  When will Washington stop the backroom deals and focus on jobs?’”

“The ‘tax and spend’ policies of Dina Titus and Nancy Pelosi must stop. We need a New Direction, one that focuses on creating an economic environment where business can feel comfortable hiring and expanding again, one where seniors know that their Medicare Advantage program is not going to disappear, one where Washington focuses on the problems facing our nation and not just pushes through their liberal agenda simply because they can.  I was always taught growing up, ‘Might doesn’t make right.’ Unfortunately Dina and her liberal colleagues seemed to have missed that lesson in grammar school. “

“Dina Titus should be ashamed for spending the past 16 months focused on everything but putting hard working Nevada families back to work, the fact is if Nevadans had jobs, then there would not be a housing crisis, or an economic crisis.  We must get Nevada working again, and it starts with a New Direction in Washington,” Heck concluded.
