Presidential Visit Won’t Make Jobs Magically Appear
Henderson – Today, President Obama came to Southern Nevada to talk with business leaders and hard working Nevada families. President Obama and Dina Titus confirmed what hard working Nevada families have known for over a year: the economy is bad and it is not getting better. With the most recent release of job data showing first time jobless claims rose another 31,000 just last week, the reality that our nation’s economic condition continues to worsen was reaffirmed. Our nation’s economy is badly damaged and it has become clear that liberals like Dina Titus and Nancy Pelosi do not have a feasible plan to fix it.
Dina Titus and her liberal friends have spent the better part of thirteen months working to increase regulations on small businesses, ensure the “death tax” returns, and pass “cap and trade” legislation that will increase the energy costs on all Nevada families and businesses. They have dramatically increased the national debt and have sought to take over our nation’s healthcare system…none of which will help get our economy moving again. It seems they are so fixated on their liberal agenda that rebuilding our nation’s economy doesn’t even appear on their radar. …despite the rhetoric they give at a few photo-ops today.
Nevada families cannot afford the continuation of the “tax and spend” policies of Dina Titus and Nancy Pelosi. It is clear that the liberal agenda that Dina Titus continues to support over 97 percent of the time does not include creating private sector jobs or creating a business-friendly environment. Rather, she continues with job-killing, debt-increasing policies.
“As Nevada families continue to gather around the kitchen table deciding which bills they can afford to pay and how to put food on the table, Washington continues to focus on job-killing policies,” said Dr. Joe Heck, Candidate for Congress. “Washington needs ‘A New Direction,’ one that does not continue to increase the burden on small businesses, but rather allows entrepreneurs the opportunity for success,” Heck continued.
“The hard working families of Southern Nevada need a Congressman who understands what it means to meet a payroll and operate a small business. The time for theory is over, the time for action is now, before more Nevada families have to choose between the roof over their heads and the food on their table,” Heck concluded.
