A Crisis With No End: Bankruptcy Filings Continue To Rise
Henderson, NV - Today, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of Nevada released data showing Nevada’s filings increased 13.6 percent in April in comparison with April, 2009.
"These bankruptcy numbers are a stark reminder that individuals and small businesses are no longer able to carry the weight of Washington’s onerous regulations and expensive, wasteful spending. Dina Titus continues to stand by her liberal cronies as they layer more debt onto the backs of hard working southern Nevada families," said Heck.
This report also stated Chapter 7 liquidations accounted for the bulk of April’s filings, an 18.8 percent increase from April, 2009. Chapter 7 bankruptcies are filed by individuals and businesses. Nevada continues to lead the nation in individuals filing bankruptcy.
"It is evident that our middle-class, small business owners are the target of Dina Titus' and Nancy Pelosi’s tax and spend liberal ways. We need a representative in Washington who will focus on jobs and offer sensible, job-creating solutions; not someone who will continue to defend the failed ‘stimulus package.’ Until we tackle our 13.7 percent unemployment rate, there’s no end in sight for this crisis that plagues southern Nevada," concluded Heck
